void
This artwork visualises the perceived gravity of emptiness and loneliness. In order to make the illustration’s most dominant element, the void, appear rough and brutal I chose to experiment with halftone patterns; this decision has also made it perfectly suitable for screen printing.
In contrast to the black hole the figures are made to seem fragile and helpless. They are printed with interference colour, making them only visible from certain viewpoints. Struggling to get the figures’ perspective right, I used 3D models in Blender to create reference images, which I then traced in a vector graphics software.
